General Information

HVG Marine foam fenders are designed to absorb the berthing energy of ships, whether at quay side or during ship-to-ship operations. Being manufactured from closed-cell polyethylene foam, HVG Marine fenders and buoys will not absorb water, and are therefore virtually unsinkable – even when the outer protective, nylon reinforced, polyurethane skin is breached.

The foam is capable of absorbing high loads of energy, complemented by low reaction forces, making berthing easier, more gentle and safer – especially in difficult conditions. In general, Luhang Marine fenders and buoys require little maintenance. However, periodic inspection for damage and wear is required. Although our fenders cannot burst

or sink, they can be damaged. The precautions and maintenance guidelines are mentioned in the following sections, ensuring that your fenders and buoys will give you the maximum return on your investment.
