General Introduction of Pneumatic Floating Rubber Fender

Pneumatic floating rubber fenders can play an important role in ships’ safe berthing operation. Essentially there are two main types of floating pneumatic rubbers, defined as either low or high pressure fenders. Pneumatic rubber fenders are made of synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheets with compressed air inside at intitial pressure of 50kPa (low pressure) or 80kPa (high pressure) to enble it to float on water and work as a shock absorber between two ships or between ship and a dock. Although manufactured using different techniques, both low and high pressure fenders work by the same principle.

Applications of Yokohama Pneumatic Floating Rubber Fender

    1. In ports with extreme tidal variations
    2. Ship-to-ship lightering operations
    3. Oil and Gas
    4. Temperary berthing between ships and ship to dock
    5. Rapid response and emergencies

Features of Yokohama Pneumatic Floating Rubber Fender

    1. Easy and fast to deploy
    2. Very low reaction and hull pressure
    3. Suitable for small and large tidal ranges
    4. Maintains large clearance between hull and structure
    5. Economical solutions
    6. Easily deflateable to be used in different locations and to be stocked on deck of vessels
    7. Built as per ISO 17357-1:2014
