The Pains Wessex Manoverboard Lifebuoy Marker is normally mounted on a ship’s bridgewing and attached to a 4kg lifebuoy. It is deployed automatically or manually to mark the position of a person in the water by day or night. The Manoverboard features a self-activated lighting system which exceeds SOLAS requirements for 2-candela light output and 2 hours’ duration, whilst it provides 15 minutes of dense orange smoke. Most ships are required to fit at least two markers.
